Four of Katseye’s seven Billboard Hot 100 hits appear on the chart this week, with “Hootie Frutti” debuting inside the top 40 while two tunes return together. It was only a little more than two years ago that Katseye, the girl group formed via the series Dream Academy, released its aptly-named first single, “Debut.” Since then, the outfit has become one of the most successful all-female vocal troupes in the world in a fairly short span of time.
This week, Katseye scores its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with a new EP titled Wild. At the same time, the Grammy-nominated band enjoys its biggest week yet on the Billboard Hot 100, the most important songs tally in America, as several tracks either debut, return or climb.
Katseye Scores a New Billboard Hot 100 Hit
“Hootie Frutti” launches inside the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, opening at No. 31. The track becomes Katseye’s seventh career placement on the 100-space ranking and immediately joins the girl group’s growing collection of smashes.
Katseye’s “Animal” Returns to Its All-Time Peak
At the same time that “Hootie Frutti” launches, “Animal,” which helped turn Wild into a bestseller, surges from No. 30 to No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100. The pre-release single returns to its all-time high, matching the position where it debuted earlier this month. “Animal” holds as Katseye’s second-highest-charting hit on the roster, behind only “Gabriela,” which peaked at No. 21 in January of this year.
Katseye Fills Four Spaces on the Billboard Hot 100
Katseye fills four spots on the Billboard Hot 100 this frame. In addition to “Hootie Frutti” debuting and “Animal” ascending, both “Pinky Up” and “Iconic by Mistake,” the latter a collaboration with Le Sserafim and Illit, return to the tally at Nos. 81 and 94, respectively. The pair of tunes have previously worked their way into the top 40. More than half of all the songs Katseye has ever placed on the Billboard Hot 100 are only spaces away from one another this week.
“Hootie Frutti” Debuts on Four Billboard Charts
“Hootie Frutti” launches on four Billboard rankings simultaneously. In addition to its No. 31 start on the Billboard Hot 100, the single debuts at No. 19 on the Billboard Global 200, No. 21 on the Streaming Songs chart and No. 27 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Katseye is now up to six career hits on the streaming-only roster and nine on both of the worldwide tallies.
Katseye’s “Animal” Returns to Its Peak on Several Lists
“Animal” appears on the same four charts as “Hootie Frutti,” and it returns to its all-time high on all but one of them. Along with matching its already-set No. 24 peak on the Billboard Hot 100, the cut rises back into the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200, where it lands at No. 10. The cut also once again misses that region by a single space on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., where it advances to No. 11. “Animal” also climbs on the Streaming Songs ranking, moving to No. 18, though it settles in several spaces below its No. 12 high.
More Katseye Hits Rise and Return
“Pinky Up” returns to the two planet-spanning rankings in addition to the Billboard Hot 100. The hit reenters the Billboard Global 200 at No. 128 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at No. 176. “Iconic by Mistake” does not need to return to those two worldwide tallies, where it makes a home at Nos. 104 and 105, respectively. “Gabriela” is also still present on the lists, and this time around the song rises amid all the excitement surrounding Katseye’s Wild, with the older cut climbing on both rosters.
Katseye Almost Added Two More Billboard Hot 100 Hits
Katseye comes close to increasing its Billboard Hot 100 total even further this week. “Bel Air” and “That Way” – both featured on Wild – debut on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart at Nos. 11 and 14, respectively. The 25-space roster serves as an extension of the Billboard Hot 100 for songs that have not yet reached the main ranking.
