The move capped a strong month for MSTR. The stock has risen 47.65%, or 48% rounded, over the one-month period through Sept. 18.

That gain placed Strategy at the top of the latest Nasdaq-100 constituent return ranking. MSTR had closed at $104.25 on Aug. 19 before climbing to $153.92 one month later.

Trading activity was also elevated Friday. Volume reached about 54.3 million units, well above recent daily levels.

Bitcoin Rally Drives Renewed Interest in MSTR

Bitcoin climbed more than 5% Friday and moved above $80,000 during the session. Crypto-linked stocks also advanced as the wider Nasdaq finished higher.

MSTR has historically moved more sharply than Bitcoin during large crypto price swings. On Friday, Strategy gained 16% while Bitcoin rose roughly 5% to 6%.

That relationship was visible across the wider one-month period as well. MSTR’s 48% rise outpaced Bitcoin’s return over the same general window.

Strategy’s Bitcoin balance remains central to the stock’s price action. As of Sept. 13, the company held approximately 845,050 BTC.

Those holdings were acquired for a total cost of $63.73 billion, including fees and expenses. The average purchase price was about $75,412 per Bitcoin.

Strategy’s most recent confirmed purchase was 4,603 BTC for roughly $369.7 million. That transaction took its total holdings to the current 845,050 BTC.

Saylor Hints at Another Bitcoin Purchase

Strategy did not buy or sell Bitcoin between Sept. 8 and Sept. 13, according to its latest SEC filing. It also made no sales under its at-the-market stock program during that period.

Instead, Strategy has recently used cash to repurchase STRC preferred stock. The company spent $176.3 million buying back 1.81 million STRC units between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7.

A further $139.3 million was spent on STRC repurchases in the following reporting period. Strategy had $5.10 billion in its USD Reserve and about $1.30 billion in separate USD Cash as of Sept. 13.

The pause in Bitcoin purchases may now be ending. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor posted “A little more orange” on Sunday alongside a chart showing Strategy’s Bitcoin accumulation history.

Saylor has used similar posts before confirmed purchase disclosures. However, no new Bitcoin transaction has yet been officially reported.

Strategy’s next regulatory update will show whether the company added to its Bitcoin position last week. Until then, its last confirmed balance remains 845,050 BTC.
