Meta unveiled its Meta VR Glasses, priced at $1,299 and set to launch in spring 2027. CEO Mark Zuckerberg also laid out new Ray-Ban products and talked up the company’s “personal superintelligence” strategy during the event.

Unity doesn’t make hardware. But it builds the software tools that developers use to create games and interactive experiences across VR, mobile, PC, and console platforms.

Why Unity Is Tied to Meta’s Announcement

Unity and Meta have worked together for years on VR development. Developers use Unity’s engine alongside Meta’s XR software to build and launch immersive experiences for Meta’s devices.

That partnership got a refresh in April 2026, when the two companies extended their multi-year platform support and enterprise agreement. Unity says more than 70% of the top-selling VR games on the Meta Store were built using its tools.

More Meta hardware in the market could mean more developers building for VR. That’s the logic driving Wednesday’s stock move.

Meta has also deepened the technical side of the relationship. Its Meta XR Unity MCP Extension lets developers use AI agents to create and edit Meta VR scenes directly inside Unity.

Connect 2026 runs September 23 to 24. The second day leans more toward developers, with SDK updates and technical sessions planned.

Unity’s Recent Stock Run

Unity stock isn’t just reacting to one event. It’s up more than 140% over the past six months.

Much of that rally started in late March 2026, when Unity launched its Vector AI platform. The tool is designed to improve mobile advertising and game monetization.

Unity also raised its revenue outlook above what Wall Street expected at the time. That gave the stock an early boost heading into the second quarter.

Q2 earnings kept the momentum going. Unity reported $546 million in revenue, up 24% year-over-year.

Its adjusted loss came in at $0.05 per share. Analysts had expected a wider loss of $0.11 per share.

According to TipRanks, Unity carries a Strong Buy consensus rating. That’s based on 15 Buy ratings and three Hold ratings issued over the past three months.

The average analyst price target sits at $48.69. That implies upside of roughly 10% from current levels.

Meta’s stock also moved higher Wednesday, gaining around 1% to 3% depending on the session, as investors reacted to the Connect 2026 lineup.
